A Day in the Country

This past Fall, I was lucky enough to photograph a fun afternoon with these amazing humans you see right here. Granted, I am pretty lucky to see them on a regular basis (that’s my brother, sister-in-law, and my awesome niece and nephews!) but I still had to share because this was one of my all-time favorite sessions. The little ones are at such a fun age, ready to play and go go go, especially that sweet little firecracker in the lace! Big brother Jeremy is always ready to play with the littles or make them laugh. As for Mom and Dad, well, they are just embracing this wild season of life, and doing so with grace and laughter.

I know parents tend to get nervous about having “non-cooperative” kids for their photo shoot; trust me, I’ve been on the other side feeling the same way before. I want you to re-frame that thinking for your session. We’ll have tons of fun- there will be more playing than posing, with silly noise making and games to boot. I will capture their personalities and idiosyncrasies so you can remember them just as they are. In the end I bet you wouldn’t want it any other way. Let’s let them be little.

Sweet Baby Jordyn

Oh, sweet Jordyn. Her mama wanted a simple shoot, so we chose just one look for Jordyn- the soft neutral background and pink lace came together perfectly! Doesn’t she look like a little angel? Jordyn was a little more than two weeks old and took her time nodding off, but soon enough she was dozing comfortably, all wrapped up in lace!

Can you just imagine what sweet dreams baby Jordyn is dreaming?

I absolutely love the little details…tiny fingers, tiny toes, little mouths and noses…

It was so hard to pick a favorite from this shoot, she was such a sweet subject!

The One Who Fought The Sleep

This little guy was two weeks old when we had our day together for photos, and he had zero interest in sleeping. No, really. None. Zilch. Just look at that smirk…he knew what he was doing! (And he knew he looked darn cute doing it, too!)

After his mama and I figured sleep just wasn’t in the cards, we switched gears for some family photos…and look who fell asleep!

That sweet baby. He just wanted to be snuggled up with the two people he loves the most!

Honestly, these photos make my heart melt. The amount of love that Sam and Bekah have for that little guy is nothing short of amazing.
